Sharing and QR codes
Step-by-step help for messages, social profiles, email signatures, websites and printed QR codes.

All guides
Before you start
- Publish your form and check that it is accepting inquiries.
- In Share, choose Copy link. Your public link contains /f/.

You can use the same form link in several places. Visitors do not need a makeform.live account. Copying a link or opening a guide does not post to your social accounts.
Share your link on WhatsApp
Send it in a conversation or add it to your business profile.
- Open the WhatsApp conversation where you want to share it.
- Paste the link with a short message, such as Tell me what you need using this form.
- Review your message before sending. Open the link to check that it shows your form.
The same copy-and-paste approach works in Telegram and other messaging apps.
Add it to WhatsApp Business
Open your business profile editor in WhatsApp Business and add the form link in the Website field, then save. This profile option belongs to WhatsApp Business; a regular WhatsApp chat only needs the pasted link. See WhatsApp’s profile-editing instructions for your device.
No preview appears in the chat
A picture or preview is not required. Check that the full https:// address is present and try opening it. Share it with people who expect to hear from you.
Share your link on Facebook
Give visitors to your Page a way to send an inquiry.
- Switch to the Facebook Page you manage and start a new post.
- Paste the link and explain what people can contact you about. Review the post, then publish when ready.
- Open the link from the published post to check it. You can also add it to your Page’s website information where available.
You need permission to manage the Page. Page settings and available fields can differ.
Adding the form link does not connect Facebook Messenger to your makeform.live inbox. Only messages submitted through the form appear here.
Keep the link easy to find
A post can move down the feed. If your Page offers pinning or a Featured area, you can keep the contact post there. Alternatively, edit your Page’s About or contact information and look for a website field. Save and view the Page as a visitor to check it.
I cannot edit the Page
Make sure you have switched to the correct Page and have permission to manage it. Personal profiles and Pages have different controls; available fields also depend on the Page category. Use the Facebook Help Center if your menus differ.
Add your link to an email
Use it in a message or keep it in your email signature.
- Paste it into your message, or open your email app’s signature settings.
- For a signature, add text such as Send an inquiry and use the editor’s link option to attach your form link. Save your changes.
- Send yourself a test email and open the link from the received message.
Gmail on a computer
Open Settings → See all settings. Under General, find Signature and create or edit your signature. Add “Send an inquiry”, select that text and use the link control to attach your form URL. Choose the signature defaults you want, then Save Changes at the bottom.
New Outlook or Outlook on the web
Open Settings → Accounts → Signatures. Add or edit a signature for the right account, insert your contact text and form link, choose whether to use it for new messages or replies, and save.
The signature is missing on my phone
Your mobile app may use its own signature. Check that app’s settings and send yourself a test. If the editor only accepts plain text, paste the complete form URL instead of a linked label.
Add a contact link to your website
A button or text link is the simplest way to use your form on a website.
- Open your website editor and add a button or text link where visitors will look for contact details.
- Use a label such as Contact us. Paste the form link as its destination, then save and publish your website.
- Open the published website and try the link on your phone as well as your computer.
Want the form inside your page? In your form’s Share tab, use Change how you share to get an embed code or instructions for your own form. Existing links and website connections keep working.
Link, embedded form or your own form?
A contact button opens your hosted form and only needs a URL. An embedded form appears inside your existing page and needs the embed code from your form’s Share tab. If someone has already built your form, they can connect it using HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript or React.
Follow the website guide for embedding or connect your own form. Server examples are included for developers.
I do not manage the website
Send the person who maintains it your public form link and say where you want a Contact button. They do not need your makeform.live password. To embed the form, also send them the embed code from your form’s Share tab.
My change only appears in the editor
Save and publish through your website builder, then open the public website again. Check that the button links to the full https:// form address.
Put your form on a QR code
Use a table card, poster, flyer or reception sign to collect inquiries and poll answers.
- Open your form’s Share page. Its QR code is shown with the link.
- For a ready layout, choose Print a card or poster: a table card, poster, card sheet or sticker.
- Change the headline if you like, then choose Save as PDF.

- For your own design, choose Download PNG, keep the white border and add a label such as Scan to send an inquiry.
- Print a sample and scan it with a phone camera before printing more copies.
On Pro, prints can use your logo and colour without the makeform.live credit.
Before printing a batch
Keep the image square, with its white border visible. Do not crop it, stretch it or place it on a busy background. Test the actual printed size in the lighting and at the distance your customers will use.
The camera will not scan it
Try a larger print, stronger contrast and better lighting. Check the original downloaded PNG before asking your printer to make another copy.
Can I change the form later?
You can update and republish the same form without replacing its QR code. A new or replacement form has its own link and needs a new QR code. Include a readable contact option alongside the code for people who cannot scan it.
Check the result
- Open the link where you placed it, preferably on a phone or in a private browser window. Check the public title and questions.
- Send a short test inquiry with an email address you control. A confirmation should appear after it is saved.
- Return to your form’s Inquiries page and choose the refresh button. Your test should appear there.
The link asks customers to sign in
You may have copied the dashboard address. Replace it with the public form link from Share.
The form is unavailable or cannot accept a message
Check that the form is published and not paused. Look for a usage-limit or setup warning in your dashboard. Copy the link again if you created a replacement form; deleting a form does not redirect its old links.
The link opens the wrong form or shows an old preview
Compare the saved destination with Copy link in your dashboard. Social apps can keep an older link preview; open the link itself to check the current page. An internal name such as “Instagram” is only for you; visitors see your public title.
The inquiry arrived but the email did not
The saved inquiry is still in your inbox. Follow the notification email checks.
What to send support
If you are still stuck, contact support with the app or website builder you are using, the step that failed and the error shown. Do not include passwords, verification codes or customer messages.
